Zoe E. Louton, 89 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln Friday afternoon, December 14, 2018. She was born on November 30, 1929 in Almont, ND to Erling and Clara (Williams) Willman. Zoe graduated from high school in San Francisco, received her BA degree from San Francisco State College, and a master's degree in education from Chico State College in Chico, CA. Zoe and Dr. Robert Louton were married on February 14, 1955 and have lived in Beatrice since 1980. She had been a foreign language teacher in California and Nebraska and was fluent in both French and German. Zoe was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and had been in the choir; member of BARTA and the Cosgrove Music Club; and was a volunteer at the Homestead National Monument. Zoe was instrumental in setting up the Distant Learning Program at ESU #5 in Beatrice. She enjoyed playing and listening to music.\nSurvivors include her husband Dr. Robert Louton; son Bob Louton and wife Sandy of Groton, Mass.; daughter Teresa Grist and husband Simon of Potton, England; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and brother Howard Willman of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.\nMemorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice. Burial of ashes will be at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 PM Saturday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge.
