Warren W. Ebbers Obituary (1923 - 2016)

Warren W. Ebbers, 92 years of age, of Adams, NE passed away at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams Monday evening, August 29, 2016. He was born December 16, 1923 to John and Delia (Pietenpol) Ebbers near Cortland, NE. He attended Sunny Side School until 8th grade. On Januaary 6, 1952 he married Lila K. Hansen in O'Neill, NE. They lived near Firth until 1957 when they moved to a farm east of Adams, and later moved into Adams in 1984. He had been an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Adams. Warren served on the Adams town board, and over 20 years on the board of directors of the Farmers Elevator. Warren loved farming, square dancing, and time spent with family and friends. Survivors include 2 sons, Dennis and Sheila (Hietbrink) Ebbers of Adams, and Marlin and Cindy (Thies) Ebbers of Sterling; grandchildren Nichole Dean and Justin Dean, Blake and Megan (Malloy) Ebbers, Jason Ebbers and Julie Ebbers; brother in law William Hansen; and sister in law Bernice Ebbers. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lila (2013); an infant son Darold W. Ebbers; brothers Earl Ebbers and Fred (Grace) Ebbers; and sisters Elda (Herbert) Pape, Leah (Owen) Heusinkvelt, and Ruth (Howard) Bouma. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Adams with Reverend Rod Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will lie in state Thursday from 1-9:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Adams with the family greeting friends from 7-8:30, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Friday. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 AM Friday at the church. A memorial has been established to the church with the funeral home in charge.
