Virginia M. Lofing, 81 years of age, of Salina, KS, formerly of Beatrice passed away at the Salina Regional Health Center Thursday morning, July 16, 2020. She was born on June 10, 1939 in Fairbury, NE to Harry and Georgia (Rice) Hoadley. Virginia was a graduate of Beatrice High School. She and Clarence Lofing were married on July 29, 1956 at R. Harbine, NE. Virginia was a housewife and served as a certified Home Health Aid for the Beatrice Community Hospital for 15 years until she retired in 2006. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church, R. Harbine. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing the piano, and visiting with her family and friends.\nSurvivors include her children Monte Lofing and wife Nheeda of Beatrice, and Nikki Lofing of Salina; 2 grandchildren Christopher Lofing and Kinze Lofing of California; brother in law J.D. Lofing of Beatrice; and sister in law Virgene Hoadley of Beatrice. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence (2001); infant sister Donna Hoadley; and siblings Dorothy Sherman, Betty Haack, and Charles Hoadley.\nFuneral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Doyle Karst officiating. This service will also be livestreamed on the funeral home facebook page. Due to the current pandemic, social distancing will be required at all events. Wearing masks is recommended but not required. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, R. Harbine. The body will lie in state Friday from 10:00 AM-9:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 6:30-8:30 PM, and at the church one hour preceding the service. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 AM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Cornerstone Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church, R. Harbine with the funeral home in charge.
