Victory Peace (Vickie) Gade Obituary (1918 - 2014)

Victory Peace (Vickie) Gade, 95 years of age, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Beatrice, passed away at the Rambling Oaks Retirement facility in Oklahoma City Saturday morning, June 7, 2014. She was born on November 11, 1918 in Wymore to George and Julia (Widener) Ogden, and graduated from Wymore High School. Vickie and Harold Gade were married on October 28, 1937 in Odell, NE. Vickie and Harold were married 72 years and they said it was because of their faith and the wonderful people of St. Paul's. She had been employed at the former Beatrice National Bank in Beatrice for 22 years. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beatrice and been a member of the choir. She had lived in Wymore, Blue Springs and Beatrice until moving to Oklahoma City in 2005 and was cared for there by her grandson Jeff Ahl and his wife Kaye. Vickie is survived by her daughter, Esther D. Blick of Oklahoma City, OK; by grandchildren Jeff Ahl and wife Kaye of Norman, OK, Vicki Moore of Oklahoma City, and Scott Blick and wife Claudia of Austin, Tx; four great grand children, Stephen Ahl and wife Malory, Melynda Affentranger and husband David; 1 great great grandson, Preston Affentranger; sister, Thelma Petersen of Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gade (2009); parents, George and Julia (Widener) Ogden; and by 1 brother and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Reverend Douglas Irmer officiating. Interment will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state Friday from 4-9:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice and at the church one hour preceding the services on Saturday.
