Sue (Scherling) Glynn

Sue L (Scherling) Glynn, 75 years old, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 Lakeview Assisted Living in Firth. She was born February 2, 1944 near Plymouth, NE, the daughter of Martin and Hulda (Brandt) Scherling and was a 1962 Graduate of Diller High School. Sue attended Seward Concordia University and was a licensed cosmetologist and real estate agent.
Sue married Harry Kiburz on October 26, 1963 and to this union three children were born Kurtis Lynn, Thomas William and Susan Beth. While they later divorced, Sue and Harry remained lifelong friends until Harry's death in 2010. When the kids were young, she worked as a cosmetologist, at Petersen Manufacturing in DeWitt. Sue was a licensed real estate agent for Home Real Estate in Lincoln and worked as a paralegal in the Glynn law firm until her retirement. She married John Glynn on December 30, 1991 and they made their home in Lincoln.
Sue was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of rural Hickman. She was active in Lincoln AA and sponsored and helped hundreds of women over the last 30 years.
She enjoyed doing embroidery, painting, was a fabulous cook and famous for her potato salad, loved watching Law & Order, reading and Husker football.
Survivors: daughter Susan Barnard of Beatrice. Sons Kurt Kiburz and Susan Mills of Palmyra and Tom and Sara Kiburz of Hebron. Grandchildren Shelby Barnard and Kyle Thernes of DeWitt, Mackenzie Barnard of Beatrice, Alycia (Jeff) Davis of Lincoln, Ben, Clara, Dani Kiburz of Palmyra, Bailey and Barrett Kiburz of Hebron. Sisters Delores & Ted Kessner of Lincoln, Leola and Ron Weers of Diller, sister in law Darlene Luehring of Beatrice. Many nieces, nephews, cousins. Preceded in death by parents Martin and Hulda Scherling, stepfather Ivan Freeman, Brothers/sister in laws Arnold & Elaine Scherling, Vernon Scherling, Milb & Rose Scherling, sister Darline & Gaylord Bergmeier, nephews Kelly Scherling, Doug Bergmeier, Randy Scherling, Bryce Scherling and great niece Andrea Scherling, husband John Glynn July 20, 2007.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church near Hickman, NE with Reverend Ron Drury officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Lincoln. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place, but a register book will be available Monday and Tuesday from 9-5:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
