Sandra Nelson

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra Kaye Nelson on January 13, 2026. She was born on February 27, 1949, in Beatrice, NE.

Sandra had been employed at First National Bank in Beatrice and at American Tool in DeWitt. Sandra found joy in fishing, gardening, and golfing. She was a life member of the Liberty Legion Auxiliary. Above all else, Sandra was a devoted mother and grandmother

She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Kevin) Wrightsman, son James Anderson, granddaughter Taylor Barnard, grandson Austin Wrightsman, and brothers John, Kurt, and Kent Searcey. Sandra was preceded in death by her father Melvin Searcey, mother Audrey (Winquist) Searcey, son Tony Anderson, uncle Joyce Winquist, and nephew Grant Searcey.

Sandra's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 PM at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, 708 North 6th Street, Beatrice, Nebraska followed by her family greeting friends from 6:00-7:30 PM at the same venue. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel. Casual attire is suggested. The service will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person on her memory page at www.ghchapel.com. Burial of her ashes will be at the Liberty Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
