Rodney "Tator" Easton

Rodney "Tator" Easton of Clatonia, NE passed away at home on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. He was born on February 29, 1956 to James & Shirley (Winkle) Easton in Scottsbluff, NE. He spent his early years in Lyman, NE, then moved to the Lincoln area. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator at Ideus, Land, Settje Ag, Bruns Construction, and LeGrande Excavating, then found his second passion of driving truck for Salem Trucking and Harms Farms. He and his wife logged many miles while sharing the road with his brothers.
Rod is survived by his wife Gail, mother Shirley Allen of Palmyra, NE, brother Keith (Jennifer) of Mitchell, NE, sister Kelly Halvorsen (Dan Andrewjeski) of Eagle, NE, mother-in-law, Emiley Foster of Pickens, SC. sons Matt (Tonya) and Wade, both of Eagle, NE daughter Trisha Plate (Nick) Grand Island, NE, stepdaughter Kassie Ehler (Bowdy) Sidney, NE and stepson Tanner Kaufman, Gering NE, sister-in-law Sonja Lane (Tim) of Pickens, SC and Becky Simpson (Leroy) of Paxton, NE. Nine grandchildren. Many loved nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by father James Easton, brother Grant Easton, nephew Lathan Easton, father-in-law Jerry Foster and stepfather, John Allen.
Private Celebration of Life service with family and friends will be held at a later date. Memorial to the family's choice. No viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place.
