Wymore, Nebraska
Robert "Bob" Norman Mick, born on February 15, 1946, in Wymore, Nebraska, passed away on the 3rd of September, 2026 surrounded by his family. Bob, resilient and reliable, was a pillar of strength to his loved ones and a constant source of laughter with his wit and dry sense of humor. He was a steadfast force in his family's lives, a beacon of reliability in times of uncertainty. His resilience saw him through many trials, always emerging with a smile and a quick quip to lighten the mood.
Bob attended Wymore Public Schools and married the love of his life, Rebecca "Becky" Willey, on September 6, 1963. He worked in construction and then was a dedicated millwright, contributing his expertise to Local Union 1463 taking him to jobs in Nebraska, Iowa, and Wyoming. His later years found him behind the bar at A & N, where he quickly became everyone's favorite bartender. However, his hobbies were what truly defined him. Whether it was spending cherished moments with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, camping, playing pickle cards, watching Western shows and The Golden Girls, or road-tripping with his sister, Robert found joy in the simplest things. His family was his world and he was theirs.
Robert is survived by his sons, Quint Mick (Davina Stege) of Beatrice, Paul Mick of Humboldt, and Keil Mick of Wymore; daughter, Tammy (Mark) Meints of Wymore; grandchildren, Matthew Osterhaus, Kandra Mick, Brandon Imes, Holly Mick, Dustin Mick, Dylan Mick, Amber Sejkora, Lindsey Meints, Devin (Kristi) Meints, Collin Meints (Katelynn Lovell), Rylee Meints, and Jilliyah Mick; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Joan Powell, Margaret Hager, Terry (Jerry) Smith, and Ron (Phyllis) Mick; in-laws, Patty (Gordon) Bitting, Trudy Spicer (Dennis Morgan), and Monty Fralin; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky (2021); son, Kyle Mick; great granddaughter, Carley Frase; parents, Lester and Margaret (Rhoten) Mick; parents-in-law, Elmo and Betty Willey; brother, Lester Mick; in-laws, Ron Powell, Dan Hager, Beth (Larry) Bartels, Janie Fralin, and John Willey.
A gathering to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm at his home in Wymore, Nebraska. A private graveside service will be held at the Wymore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wymore Volunteer Fire Department.
