Richard Lee Morrison was born on October 19, 1957 in Lancaster, California to Richard "Smokey" and Shirley (Hogan) Morrison. He passed away at the age of 60 at home surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Richard served in the United States Army and worked for Burlington Railroad, Casper Construction, and Schwisow Construction.\nRichard is survived by his sisters, Susan Briggs and husband Ron of Jacksonville, Florida and Shirley Adams of Beatrice; nephew Ronnie Briggs of Beatrice; nieces, Patty Briggs, Brenda Hinson and husband Mike all of Jacksonville, Florida; great nephews, Michael Briggs, Tyler Hinson, Brandon Hinson, and Justin Jordan all of Jacksonville, Florida; and special friend, Teresa Louis of Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Morrison; brother-in-law, Les Adams.\nA memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Evergreen Home Cemetery. Casual dress is requested. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge.
