Richard E. "Dick" Elliott, 88 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln Friday, June 7, 2019. He was born on October 24, 1930 in Beatrice to Charles and Lucille (Lock) Elliott and was a 1948 graduate of Beatrice High School. Dick served his country in the United States Marine Corps from February 20, 1952 until August 7, 1952. He and Carol Kreuscher were married on November 9, 1952. Dick was an electrician for Baker Electric and had been a driver's license examiner for the State of Nebraska. Dick was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church; was an Eagle Scout; and had been active in the Beatrice Jaycees, Beatrice Sertoma and Flying Conestoga clubs. He was a licensed pilot and built an experimental aircraft. He enjoyed trains, coin collecting, model airplanes, and restoring Studebaker, Ford and VW automobiles.\nSurvivors include wife Carol; sons Scott Elliott of Bellevue and Jeff Elliott and wife Mary Helen of Tampa; 6 grandchildren Meghan McCollester and husband Chad, Ben Elliott, Sam Elliott, Joseph Elliott and wife Karma, Elizabeth Elliott, and Catherine Elliott; and 2 great grandchildren Grant and Blake McCollester. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Don Elliott.\nCelebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Reverend Mark Schutt officiating. Private family inurnment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery. A register book will be available for signatures on Monday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge.
