Randal L. "Randy" Garrison, 60 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at the Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln Thursday morning, November 29, 2018. He was born on November 3, 1958 in Beatrice to Roland "Jack" and Ellen (Petracek) Garrison. Randy was a 1977 graduate of Tri County High School and attended SCC in Fairbury, NE. Randy was an entrepreneur, and had been a salesman for various company's in the area and currently employed by Axalta Powder Coating Company. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt, Ducks Unlimited, White Tail Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing ping pong, cards (especially pitch), and horseshoes. Randy was very involved in local and national racing, racing in Beatrice and at various national circuits, and had been a member of the pit crew for Robbie Unser. He loved Halloween, and spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren and all his nephews and nieces).\nSurvivors include his life partner of 26 1/2 years Cyndi Novotny; children Lisa Dietsch and husband Ben of Lincoln, Ben Novotny of Beatrice, and Jay Novotny and wife Markie of Lincoln; father Jack Garrison and wife Mary of DeWitt; 4 grandchildren William and Josephine Dietsch and Kyren and Keegan Novotny; siblings Steve Garrison and wife Donna, Tim Garrison and wife Pam, Kristi Rahe, Kerri Thornburg and husband Kevin, all of DeWitt, and Dustin Garrison of Beatrice; and many nieces and nephews, great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Ellen Garrison; and nephew Holden Rahe.\nFuneral services (with casual dress recommended) will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt with Reverend Sean Koos officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, DeWitt. The body will lie in state Monday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6-7:30 PM, and on Tuesday from 9-11:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, and at the church one hour preceding the services. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 PM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Duck's Unlimited with the funeral home in charge.
