Orville H. "Doc" Willet Obituary (1928 - 2013)

Orville H. "Doc" Willet, 85 years of age, of Beatrice, formerly of Wymore passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice Sunday morning, October 13, 2013. He was born on October 2, 1928 at Firth, NE to Earl and Lydia (Rohrdanz) Willet, and was a 1946 graduate of Wymore High School. Doc was employed at Dempster Manufacturing for 43 years and was a member of the International Association of Machinists. Doc enjoyed remodeling and construction projects, completing jigsaw puzzles, and going to garage sales. Survivors include his daughter Diane L. Renois and husband Daniel of Porterville, CA; son Michael Willet and wife Beth of Wymore; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters Amy Allen of Wymore, Viola Allen and husband Donald "Bud" of Lincoln, and Shirley Neumann and husband Walter of DeWitt. Doc was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Lydia (Rohrdanz) Willet; brothers Raymond, Edward and Arnold Willet; and sisters Irene Earnhart and Ruby Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment will be held at the Wymore Cemetery. The body will lie in state Wednesday from 11-9:00 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting friends from 7-8:00.
