Orville J. "Bud" Nienaber, 87, of Madrid, IA, formerly of Hanover, KS and Beatrice, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Madrid Home Care Facility. Orville was born on the family farm near Lanham, KS on July 16, 1930 to John and Frieda (Mueller) Nienaber. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanham, KS. He attended the Sunflower Schoolhouse. On April 23, 1954, Orville married Donna Jean Wehling at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Beatrice, NE. They had two children, Sue and Dan. Orville took over the family farm at a young age and farmed for over 50 years. He also had worked for Dempster's and Encore Manufacturing in Beatrice, NE. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice, and enjoyed farming.\nOrville is survived by his daughter Sue (Joe) Neumann of Ankeny, IA., son Dan (Trudy) Nienaber of Beatrice, NE, grandchildren Whitney (Will) Dance, Brielle (Doug) Allen, Colin Neumann, Kyle Nienaber & Shane Nienaber. He also had 3 great-grandchildren. His surviving siblings are Ruth Tenopir, Lincoln NE, Darlene Nienaber, Lincoln NE, and Marilyn Robbins of Santa Ana, CA. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Donna (1999), and granddaughter, Jacqueline.\nFuneral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Reverend Greg Gabriel officiating. Interment at the Lanham Cemetery in Lanham, KS. Visitation from 1-8:00 PM Tuesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 PM, and on Wednesday until the time of the service.
