Norman W. "Bill" Tedrow, 97 years of age, of Fairbury passed away at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury Thursday morning, November 29, 2018. He was born on July 20, 1921 in Torrington, WY to Glenn and Millie (Brown) Tedrow. Bill and Betty Ann Ruble were married on May 2, 1942. Bill served his country in the United States Army as a combat engineer from May 9, 1942 until January 29, 1946. He had worked with his father as a carpenter; was a welder for Wagner Welding; and worked maintenance at Roodes Packing, all in Fairbury. He had been a member of the VFW Post #3113, American Legion Post #24, and the Eagles Club, all in Fairbury. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.\nSurvivors include daughters Janet Keller (Robert) of LaMonte, MO and Beverly Poley (Larry) of Morrowville, KS; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; nephews Richard Tedrow, Glen Tedrow (Patricia) all of Fairbury, Tim Ruble of Lincoln; nieces Glenda Buehler (Wayne) of Fairbury, and Debbie Ruble. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty (2013); and brother Norris Tedrow.\nGraveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Fairbury Cemetery with Pastor Darlene Novotny officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Fairbury American Legion Post #24. Public visitation will be from 11:00-8:00 Wednesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends 6-7:00 PM Wednesday. A memorial has been established to the VFW Club in Fairbury with the funeral home in charge.
