Beatrice, Nebraska
Norman Dale Frerichs, was born on August 31, 1936, in Beatrice, Nebraska, and passed peacefully on June 18, 2026 in Lincoln, NE. His life was an embodiment of humility and dedication, demonstrated through his unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his community. He was a creative soul, with a talent for bringing life to inanimate objects, whether it was a faulty car engine or a broken clock. His dedication shone through the care he took in his work as a mechanic for Wallman Chrysler, from where he retired after over 30 years of service. He was first employed at Paul Logan Motor Company in Beatrice for 12 years.
Norman was a 1954 graduate of Beatrice High School and was proud to call Beatrice his home. He was a dedicated member of the community, actively participating in local clubs such as the Astronomy Club. His hobbies were a testament to his creativity, as he enjoyed working on old cars, particularly his beloved Studebaker, repairing and collecting old watches and clocks, photography, and woodworking. He was a humble servant at the Summit Street Church, where he had served as a sound technician and was an active member. The love Norman had for his family was immeasurable. He and his late wife, Rachel, whom he married on January 17, 1981, were foster parents to over 50 children, a testament to his compassionate heart.
Norman is survived by his children Erin Bench and Jason Frerichs, and his beloved grandchildren Kohl Hiatt, Holden Frerichs, Austin Layman, Haley Frerichs, Ashlee (Derrick) Gartner, Hayden Frerichs, Selina Bench, Heidi Bench, and Christopher Bench II, 4 great grandsons, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Sophie Frerichs, and his wife, Rachel Frerichs.

We encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos of Norman to his memorial page. His story does not end here, and through sharing, we keep his memory alive.
