Nila Schuette Obituary (1940 - 2023)

Nila Kay (Cooper) Schuette, age 83, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was born on May 13, 1940, in Scandia, Kansas, to Charles Roscoe Cooper and Alice Cooper. She passed away on December 11, 2023. Nila attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where she majored in accounting. She then married her high school sweetheart, Rodney Schuette. Nila and Rod lived in Moscow, Pennsylvania, where they enjoyed traveling and snow skiing. After retiring, Nila moved to Las Vegas and then home to Nebraska, where she lived many happy years in Lincoln. Nila had a love of learning and always challenged herself. She had many interests, including reading and solving crossword puzzles. She was an accomplished seamstress. She loved playing bridge with her friends. She was an avid golfer. She loved football and was a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Nila travelled the world and especially enjoyed an African safari. Nila was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Schuette; her parents, Charles Roscoe and Alice Cooper; her brother, Charles (Gwen) Cooper; her brother, Jerry Cooper; and her sister, Donna (William) Hoyt; and her niece Kathryn (Rick) Wester. Nila is survived by her sister, Marilyn (Jerry) Rapoport; her nephew, Brian Hoyt; her nephew, David (Shannon) Hoyt; her niece, Debra (William) Lynn; and many wonderful friends who she loved deeply.
