Marna Conn

–

Beatrice, Nebraska

Marna Lou Conn, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was 83 years old.

Born on March 7, 1943, in Auburn, Nebraska, Marna lived a life defined by love, kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to others. To her family, she was simply the best mom and grandmother anyone could have hoped for. She was the steady presence who offered encouragement when it was needed most, celebrated every accomplishment no matter how small, and filled every gathering with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love.

Marna had a gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Her quick wit and sense of humor could brighten any room, while her thoughtful nature and generous spirit left lasting impressions on everyone she met. She found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, creating treasured memories that will be carried forward for generations.

Throughout her career, Marna worked as a bookkeeper and teacher's aide at Tri County Public School, where she faithfully served for more than 30 years before retiring. Her faith and community connections were important parts of her life. She was an active member of her church and enjoyed her involvement with the Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Whether she was volunteering, sharing stories with friends, or supporting those around her, Marna's compassionate heart made a meaningful difference in her community.

Marna loved watching sports of all kinds, fishing, playing cards, and enjoyed participating at the Senior Center and Villa activities. She was the most happy and content with her beloved grandchildren at their activities and being surrounded by her family. Marna was also a devoted and loving wife to Galen Conn, whom she married on March 22, 1963.

Marna is survived by her loving children, Gregory (Kerri) Conn of Wausa, NE, Cara (Marshall) Shell of Maryville, MO, and Michelle Conn of Kansas City, MO, her beloved grandchildren Andrew (Sadie) Conn, Austin Conn, Trevor Shell, Megan (Mark) Cushing, Trent Shell, and Tommy (Claire) Teson, great grandchildren Calvin, Cooper, Charlotte, Caylee and Chloe, her sister Marlene North, sister-in-law Linda Oestmann, and brother-in-law Judd Mintle. Marna was preceded in death by her husband, Galen (2024) Conn, and her parents, Charles and Lucille (Cummings) Lechliter.
