Margaret J. Norris Obituary (1919 - 2016)

Margaret J. (Hofeling) Norris, 97 of Wymore, died on December 11, 2016 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born on March 19, 1919 in Adams, Nebraska. Margaret attended school at Hooker School in Adams and was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Pickrell. She was later confirmed at the Evangelical Church. Margaret married George E. "Buss" Norris on March 26, 1939, at the St. John's Lutheran Church parsonage west of Barneston. The couple moved to a farm near Liberty and then settled on a farm on Kinney Hill. Margaret raised a large garden, did a lot of canning and helped with the farm. She also worked at Southern Public Schools. Margaret and George moved to Wymore in 1976. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and loved to play cards with neighbors and friends. Margaret and Buss also enjoyed dancing and having picnics and wienie roasts with their grandchildren. She was a member of Prairie Queen Ladies Club and Eastern Star. Survivors include her sons, Charles Norris and special friend, Wilma Waychoff of Anchorage, Alaska, James Norris and wife, Linda of Wymore; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Norris of Blue Springs; foster daughter, Betty Hofeling of Homer, Alaska; grandchildren, Cindy Wilson of Ohio, James Norris of Ohio, Cherie Nadinic and husband Miroslav of Ohio, Travis Norris of Colorado, Tracy Norris and wife, Holly of Beatrice, and Karen Klover and husband Travis of Beatrice; 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Breunsbach of Wymore; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Ernest; parents, Edward and Anna (Aden) Hofeling; brothers, John, Henry "Hank", and Chester Hofeling; and sisters, Edna "Sue" Powell and Juanita Leseberg. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 16th at the Wymore Church of Christ with Clayton Lundstedt officiating. Interment will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Thursday with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, and in state one hour prior to the service on Friday.
