Mabel Eileen Hellmer Bradsby, age 93 passed away on March 25, 2019 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Society. She was born on January 19, 1926 in Barneston to Harvey and Ellen (Wayman) Hellmer. She was a 1943 graduate of Barneston High School. Mabel was an Aerographer's Mate Petty Officer 3rd Class in the United States Navy, and served her country from 1949 to 1952. She lived most of her adult life in California before moving back to the Wymore area in the 1980's. She was a member of the Immanuel (Stateline) Lutheran Church of Wymore and active with the women of the church and the quilter's group. She was also a past member of the Barneston American Legion Post 356.\nSurvivors include her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Rueckel of Crestline, California; granddaughter, Jessie Rueckel, great granddaughter, Victoria Rueckel; brother, Gerald "Bill" Hellmer; sister, Kathryn Hamilton; sister-in-law, Bernice Hellmer; several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rod Rueckel; brothers, Ralph, Eugene, and Wayne Hellmer; sister-in-law, Bert Hellmer; and brother-in-law, Ray Hamilton.\nMemorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Immanuel (Stateline) Lutheran Church of Wymore with Pastor Suzanne How officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date. A register book will be available on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore.
