Lylah Marie Vitosh Obituary (1940 - 2014)

Lylah Marie Vitosh, 74, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, at Bryan Medical Center West surrounded by many members of her loving family. She was born April 29, 1940, in Linn, KS to Edward and Hilda (Neumann) Luebken. She was baptized on September 8, 1940, at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Linn, KS, and confirmed on April 11, 1954, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Odell, NE. She graduated from Odell High School in 1958. Lylah was united in marriage to Melvin Vitosh on September 21, 1958, and lived on a farm 4 miles north of Odell for their entire 56 years of marriage. To this union was born three sons and a daughter. Lylah enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and her many friends with her specialty being chocolate revel bars and cheese salad sandwiches. She also enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, watching the hummingbirds, helping with the farm work, but most of all, she enjoyed supporting her four children and ten grandchildren in their many school activities over the years. Her commitment to her family was her passion. Survivors include her husband Melvin, her sons Brian, Brad and wife Amy, Bruce and wife Gwen, all of Odell, and daughter Rhonda and husband Larry Zarybnicky of Beatrice; grandchildren Shane Vitosh and wife Laine of Chicago, IL, Brittney and husband Kolin Kotas of Lincoln, NE, Brock Vitosh, Blake Vitosh, Morgan Vitosh, Delanie Vitosh all of Odell, NE, Hunter Zarybnicky of Beatrice, NE, Austin Vitosh of Odell, NE, Landon Zarybnicky, and Bailey Zarybnicky of Beatrice, NE; great-grandsons, Kyler and Kasen Kotas of Lincoln, NE; sisters Ruth Reel and special friend Frank Holtmeier of Beatrice, NE, Carol Scheele of Odell, NE and Sharon and husband Joe Schuller of York, NE; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Wally Andreoli of Lake Forest, CA, Walt and wife Beverly Vitosh of Beatrice, NE, Lorraine Bates of Beatrice, NE, Maxine and husband John Marshall of Castle Rock, CO, Arnie and wife Judy Vitosh, Carolyn Vitosh of Odell, NE, Bernice Vitosh and Gary Vitosh of Beatrice, NE; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Lylah was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Luebken and Hilda and stepfather Bill Shalla, sister Neva Andreoli, father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Rose Vitosh and brother-in-laws, Bob Kisling, Al Reel, Lou Bates, Leroy Vitosh and Larry Vitosh. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2014, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Odell, with Pastor Gregory Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will be at the Odell Czech Cemetery. The body will lie in state Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Monday.
