Lila K. Ebbers Obituary (1929 - 2013)

Lila K. Ebbers, 84 years of age, of Adams, NE. passed away at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams Friday afternoon, April 26, 2013. She was born on January 1, 1929 at O'Neil, NE to Daniel and Hester (Buttolph) Hansen and attended school at a country school near O'Neil. Lila and Warren Ebbers were married on January 6, 1952 in O'Neil They lived in Firth until 1957 when they moved to a farm east of Adams, and then moved into Adams in 1984. Lila was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Adams and was a past member and chairman of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and flowers. Survivors include her husband Warren of Adams; 2 sons Dennis Ebbers and wife Sheila of Adams and Marlin Ebbers and wife Cindy of Sterling; 4 grandchildren Nichole Dean and husband Justin of Birmingham, Alabama, Blake Ebbers and wife Megan of Adams, and Jason Ebbers and Julie Ebbers of Sterling; brother William Hansen of Spencer, NE; and sister in law Bernice Ebbers of Diller. Lila was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Hester (Buttolph) Hansen; infant son Darold W. Ebbers; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Adams with Reverend Jenae Bauer officiating. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 2-9:00 Tuesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Adams with the family greeting friends from 7-8:30, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Wednesday. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the church and the Gold Crest Retirement Center with the funeral home in charge.
