Larry E. Spier, age 76 passed away at the Central Nebraska Veteran's Home in Kearney on July 8, 2019. He was born in Odell on January 27, 1943 to Ernest H. & Viola (Werger) Spier. He was a 1961 graduate of Wymore High School and attended Peru State College where he played football for 3 years. Larry served in the United States Army from December 3, 1964 through November 25, 1966. He completed basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri and was qualified as a communication specialist stationed in Korea.\nSurvivors include his 3 sisters, Donna McKibben of Lincoln, Alice (David) Elliott of Fresno, California, and Vera (Kent) Searcey of Murdock, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Don McKibben.\nMemorial services held at 10:00 AM Thursday July 18, 2019 at the Wymore Presbyterian Church with Jim McNeal officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in R. Wymore. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the Wymore American Legion Post #25 or the Wymore Presbyterian Church with the funeral home in charge.
