Larry G. Lottman Obituary (1947 - 2016)

Larry G. Lottman, 69 years of age, of Wymore passed away at his home on Monday July 25, 2016. He was born on May 16, 1947 in Beatrice, NE to Harry and Winona (Smith) Lottman. He was a 1965 graduate of Odell High School. Larry served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On April 12, 1969 Larry married the love of his life, Rachel Martinez. He was a mechanic at Northern Natural Gas Company for 36 years. Larry was active in little league baseball as a coach for his son, Ricky; girls' softball coach for his daughter, Rita; elementary basketball coach for daughter, Tina; helped start the Big Indian Archers Club and served as president; was a member of Nebraska Bowhunters Association, Nebraska Traditional Archers, White Tails Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, The National Turkey Federation, and was a member and past board member at the Wymore Country Club. He was a trustee at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wymore and a member of the Knights of Columbus. After retirement, Larry volunteered at the golf course, mowed Calvary Cemetery, and continued to do a lot of work with the Big Indian Archers Club. He was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed just being in the woods with wildlife and seeing what most people never saw. He enjoyed making memories on bear and hog hunts. He was proud that his white tail and turkey trophies were all taken using traditional archery equipment. Survivors include his wife, Rachel; daughters, Rita (Lee) Thompson and Tina (Travis) Andreasen; son, Ricky Lottman; grandchildren, Collin Thompson and Tinley Andreasen; brother, Ken (Marty) Lottman, and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Winona Lottman. Funeral services for Larry will be held on Friday July 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wymore with Father Ferdinand Boehme officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery. Military graveside services will be provided by the Anderson Post #25, American Legion in Wymore and the United States Navy. The body will lie in state Thursday from 10:00 AM-9:00 PM at the Laughlin Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting friends from 7:00-8:30 PM., and at the church one hour preceding the service on Friday. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church and The University of Nebraska Medical Center Bone Marrow Transplant Program with the funeral home in charge.
