Kenneth E. Bean

Kenneth E. Bean, 80 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at Beatrice Health and Rehab Center on Friday night, February 6, 2015. He was born on July 20, 1934 in Beatrice to Ralph and Mystle (Wilkinson) Bean and was a 1952 graduate of Beatrice High School. He had lived in Cody, Wyoming until moving to Beatrice in 1962. Kenneth and Janet Heiney were married on May 30, 1964. He had been employed as a milk delivery man and bread truck driver before becoming a meat cutter for various employers. Kenneth had been a member of the Beatrice Elks and Eagles Clubs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, bird and squirrel watching, and collected Avon bottles and baseball cards.

Survivors include his wife Janet; children Jason A. Bean and wife Barbara from Phoenix, Arizona, and Teresa Bean of Beatrice; granddaughter Lacey and great granddaughter Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mystle (Wilkinson) Bean; and sister Eleanor Brockmeyer and her husband Johnny.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Reverend David Bigley officiating. Interment will be held at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. The body will lie in state Thursday from 12-6:00 and Friday until the time of the service at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
