Jodi Gail (Norris) Dorn passed away on October 16, 2023 at her home in Wymore, Nebraska surrounded by her devoted family. She was born in Beatrice, Nebraska December 11th, 1952 to Woodrow and LaRue (Wentz) Norris. They lived on a farm East of Blue Springs, Nebraska until Woodrow’s passing in 1960. Jodi attended Kindergarten and first grade at Prairie Cottage Country School with her beloved teacher Eva Craig.\n\nUpon Woodrow’s death the family moved to Wymore where she finished her education at Wymore Southern. Jodi was active in 4-H, Pep Club, Y-teens, class officer, and band.\n\nOn October 20th, 1969 Jodi married Rich Dorn (Blue Springs) in Marysville, KS. To this union was born a son, Rich Jr. and daughter, Amy Jo. They lived in Wymore their entire married life. She worked at Koons Chevrolet as a bookkeeper for 4 years, US Bank 18 years, 5 years with Marshall Coin Shop, and 10 years as director for Wymore Housing Authority before retiring at the end of 2013.\n\nSome of Jodi’s hobbies include gardening, flowers, canning, sewing, bird watching, traveling, and quilting. She taught Sunday School, Wednesday Night Youth, VBS, was a member of the Ladies Missionary Circle, and helped serve funeral dinners. Jodi found great joy in following her family's activities and was a faithful follower of Christ.\n\nPreceding her in death were her father Woodrow Norris March 10th,1960, her mother LaRue Ellis June 14th, 2022, several sets of grandparents, Parents-in-law Alfred and Bernice Dorn and several extended family members.\n\nSurviving family members include husband Rich Dorn, son Rich Jr. (Donna) Dorn, daughter Amy Jo (Arron) Mason, five grandchildren Sara (Kevin) Sturm, Stormy Rains, Brielle Dorn and fiancee Eric Gordon, Dakota (Jayce) White and Savannah Mason. Five great grandchildren Dakota, Westen and Ava Sturm, Sterling and Stella Siefford and four beloved sisters Judy (Greg) Eichelberger, Eydie (Fred) Weyer, Beth (Gene) Ackland and Robyn Sejkora, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.\n\nA funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM at the Wymore Church of Christ on Friday, October 20, 2023 with Jon Palmquist officiating. A family prayer service will begin at 10:15 AM. Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alpha Christian Children's Home in Perry, Kansas with the funeral home in charge.
