JoAnn R. Scott Obituary (1926 - 2019)

JoAnn R. Scott, 92 years of age, of Lincoln passed away Tuesday night, July 23, 2019 at Southlake Village in Lincoln, NE. She was born in Odell, NE on December 31, 1926 to Joe and Anna (Pecka) Heble and was a 1944 graduate of Wymore High School. JoAnn and Harry Scott were married on February 19, 1947 at Marysville, KS and farmed until moving into Beatrice in 1974. JoAnn had been a farm wife and employed at the Beatrice Community Hospital for 5 years. She was a former member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Liberty, NE, and enjoyed traveling. JoAnn is survived by her son Ken (Carol) Scott of Lincoln; daughter Judy (Marvin) Jahde of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren Amy (Shawn) Smothers, Jeff (Lisa) Scott, Jennifer (Steve) Bedell, Sarah (Austin) Ritz, Matt Jahde; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by parents; husband, Harry; and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Reverend Peg McClain officiating. The body will lie in state 10:00-8:00 Wednesday with family greeting friends from 6:00-7:30 and on Thursday until the time of the service.
