Joan Marie Linsenmeyer, 81, of Blue Springs, passed away on January 2, 2018. She was born on April 23, 1936 to Marlow and Helen (Retchless) Pearl. Joan attended Wymore High School and worked at the Wymore Doctor's Office where she met her future husband. She married Donald Wayne Linsenmeyer on February 12, 1956. Two daughters were born to this union - Cynthia and Rebecca.\nDon and Joan took over his family farm where they spent the remainder of their married years. Along with helping on the farm and raising the livestock, she loved to plant a big garden and canned everything she grew. She was a wonderful cook and was always singing while she cooked. She even cooked for her many cats. She also loved to sew and square dance, and there were always board games and cards being played especially in the winter. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, and they loved their "JoJo." Joan also sold Avon for many years, and her final employment was at the Good Samaritan Center in Wymore.\nSurvivors include her two daughters, Cynthia Joan Linsenmeyer, of Beatrice, and Rebecca Sue Beekman, and husband Tom of Farwell, TX. Grandchildren Amanda Bernal and husband Chris of Texico, NM and Nicholas Beekman, of Texico, NM. Great grandchildren include Destiny (Bernal) Penrod and husband Wes, Nalani, Derrick, Rebecca Bernal and Patrick Beekman Marah. Great Great Grandchildren include Brody and Adalynn Penrod. Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Don and her parents.\nFuneral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018, at 2 pm at Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore. Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lay in state on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Springs Cemetery with Laughlin-Hoevet Hoevet Funeral Home in charge.
