Jay B. Williams Obituary (1955 - 2012)

Jay B. Williams, age 57 years, of Wymore died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his home. He was born into a military family on April 18, 1955 at Bethesda, Maryland to Edwin and Ruthelma (DeRoin) Williams. He spent the majority of his childhood at Sunnyvale, California with stints in Taiwan and moved to Wymore in 1985. He was a member of the Iowa Indian Tribe of Kansas. Jay was a superior mechanic and had enjoyed working on engines for over 40 years, starting as a ten year old. He also enjoyed riding and repairing motorcycles. His sense of humor was very unique. Jay is survived by his daughter, Mary Ruth Williams of Marysville, Kansas; by his parents, Ed and Ruthelma Williams of Wymore; by his brother, Sid Williams of Wymore; by a niece, Wendy Williams of Blue Rapids, Kansas; and by uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Nellie Williams, and Amiable and Opal DeRoin; and also by uncles, aunts, and cousins. Memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, 505 N. Ninth Street, Wymore, with Fr. Dennis Hotovy officiating. A register book will be available for signatures from 9 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 until the time of service on Saturday. Memorial to the Southern Public Schools Foundation to be used for the Science Program with the funeral home in charge. An online register book is available at ghchapel.com.
