Jacalyn Hamm-Sipley, 67 years of age, born on March 10, 1956, in Jacksonville, IL, and passed away on September 30, 2023 at UNMC in Omaha. She graduated from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, IL. Later she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bryan School of Nursing in Lincoln, NE. Greg and Jacalyn Hamm-Sipley were married in April of 1976. To this union three children were born, Terrence, Crystal, and Jerrod. They later divorced in 2008. She then married Allen Sipley Sr. until he passed away in 2020. \n\nJacalyn was an epitome of humility and compassion, serving as a Registered Nurse and later as the Director of Nursing at the Garden County Regional Hospital in Oshkosh, NE. Upon retirement in 2021, she relocated to Beatrice, Nebraska, where she continued to spread love and warmth to everyone around her. Her love for life was infectious, evident in the joy she found in sewing, her cherished time on the lake, the enthusiasm she had for her grandchildren's activities, and the fondness she had for traveling. Her precious collection of angel figurines was a testament to her belief in the beauty and goodness of life.\n\nJacalyn leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and commitment. She is survived by her children TJ (Chaz) Hamm, Crystal (Rich) Dike, Jerrod (Cheyanne Meek) Hamm, all of Beatrice, and her step-son Al (Rhonda) Sipley of Ogallala; siblings Judith Grissom of Wisconsin and David Barber Jacksonville, IL; ; grandchildren Tanner McDonald, Jazmin Dike, Brayden & Brent Hamm, Harley Dike, Wyatt Dike, Jerimiah Dike, Janessa Hamm, and Jade Knoke, Berret Gregory Hamm, Dakota, Laikyn and Oakleigh Edie, Aaron (Kayla) Sipley, Aleah (Jose) Duran, Katie (Coleman) Gould, and Kai Colgrove; and many other extended family and friends. Jacalyn was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (Hughes) Barber, her beloved spouse Allen Sipley Sr, and her siblings Tracy Glodowski and Jerry Barber. \n\nJacalyn's life will be celebrated at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 5:00P PM and will be Livestreamed on her memory page at www.ghchapel.com. Public visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM Thursday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends Thursday from 4-5:00 PM. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
