Harvey H. Ottersberg Obituary (1944 - 2018)

Harvey H. Ottersberg, 74 years of age, of Beatrice passed away in Lincoln, NE Saturday morning, August 11, 2018. He was born on April 16, 1944 at Filley, NE to Harm and Anke (Ideus) Ottersberg. He had been married and later divorced from Rosemary Sokolik and Karen Dillan. Harvey served his country in the United States Navy from October 15, 1963 until July 8, 1971, serving on the USS Vigor. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Harvey served in the civil service, retiring on April 30, 1999 and later moved to Beatrice. Harvey enjoyed driving in the country, and watching westerns on television. Survivors includes children Blanche Ottersberg, LeRoy Ottersberg, both of Norfolk, VA. and Mary Ann Ottersberg of Farmville, VA ; 2 brothers Ed Ottersberg (Bonnie) of Peoria, Arizona and John Ottersberg (Gloria) of Beatrice; 2 sisters Alma Davison (Roy) of Fort Collins, CO and Liana Powell (Roger) of Wymore; 1 granddaughter and 1 great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Willie and Harm Ottersberg. . Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Wymore Cemetery with Pastor Jon Palmquist officiating.
