Gerald A. "Jerry" Yeck, age 77 of Wymore, passed away at his home on March 4, 2019. He was born in Pawnee City on June 11, 1941 to Arnold and Wilma (Witcofski) Yeck. He grew up near Liberty and attended several country schools before graduating from Liberty High School in 1958. He then went on to graduate from the School of Commerce in Omaha. On December 29, 1977, Jerry was united in marriage to Donna Gilliland. Jerry worked for trucking companies and farmed. He also owned JD's Bottle Shop and the Wander Inn Bar and was a landlord. He was a member of the Hillbilly Shrine Club and the Triscats. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.\nSurvivors include his children, Mark Yeck and wife Marie of Beatrice and Ranette Saathoff and husband Darrell of Holmesville; grandchildren, Molly (Josh) Voorhees, Emily (Chris) Forney, Colleen Lovett, Bailey Lovett, Brandon Saathoff, Derek (Lindy) Klaus, Paige Klaus, Dawson Saathoff, and Carson Saathoff; 7 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol (Tom) Brannon, Clara (Marvin) Vrtiska, Linda Seydlitz; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna (2016); great grandchildren, Gavin Forney and Ryan Post.\nFuneral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Sharon Schuster officiating. Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and one hour prior to the service Friday. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for later designation with the funeral home in charge.
