Fred E. Weber Sr. Obituary (1930 - 2016)

Fred E. Weber Sr., 86 years of age, of Adams passed away at the Goldcrest Retirement Center in Adams Tuesday, afternoon, July 26, 2016. He was born on March 4, 1930 in Pickrell to John and Emma (Wilken) Weber. Fred served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, serving from November 20, 1951 until October 31, 1953. He and Carol Hadley were married on March 4, 1954 in Adams, and Fred farmed for most of his life in the Adams area. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Adams, and was a former member of the Adams VFW Club. Fred enjoyed going to auctions, and attending his grandchildren's activities. Survivors include his children Bonnie Woltemath and husband Jim of Adams, Marilyn Neukirch of Beatrice, Sharon Zuhlke and husband Ed of Beatrice, Judy McClellan and husband Tim of Adams, and Fred Weber Jr. and wife Amy of Adams; 16 grandchildren, Jennifer Adams and husband Randy, Jonathan Woltemath, Joshua Woltemath and wife Tara, Bert Neukirch and wife Angie, Brad Neukirch, Melissa Gilland and husband Ryan, Melanie Neukirch, Craig Zuhlke and wife Amy, Amy Goracke and husband Pat, Samantha Scott and husband Edwin, Tiffany Ebert and husband Jeff, Kimberly McClellan, Jewel McClellan, TaMera McClellan, Caty Weber, and Emme Weber; 18 great grandchildren; sister Mildred Fossler of Filley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol (2014); and sister Minnie Buhr. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 1, 2016 at the American Lutheran Church in Adams with Reverend Nathan Metzger officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Adams. The body will lie in state Sunday from 1-9:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Adams with the family greeting friends from 4-5:30 PM, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Monday. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 AM Monday at the church.
