Eunice I. Hogeland Obituary (1920 - 2016)

Eunice (Koch) Hogeland, 96 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at the Beatrice Community Hospital Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016. She was born on February 25, 1920 in Campbell, NE to Adolph and Isabelle (Fuller) Koch and graduated as valedictorian from Campbell High School in May of 1937. Eunice was united in marriage to Ray Hogland at Campbell, NE on June 22, 1937 and they moved to Beatrice in 1938. She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Beatrice, former member of the St. Mary's Altar Society and the choir, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and had been past president of the Women of Christ Church, St. Anne's and St. Elizabeth Guilds; member of the Vesper Chapter #9, O.E.S. The family would like to extend special thanks to her dear friends Suzy Darnell, Mavis Hamilton, Jeanette Epp, Sue Wymore, and Gretchen Naugle for their loving care and constant friendship. Survivors include daughters Rogene Kleman and husband Don of Camdenton, MO, Linda Wood of Silver Spring, MD, Susan Hogeland and her partner Nancy Mazza of San Francisco, CA, and Sara Keeton of Lincoln; 6 grandchildren Darcy Kleman, David Kleman, Sally Walker, Allie Plihal, Warren Wood, and Daniel Keeton; 7 great grandchildren; brother Winston Koch of Santa Clara, CA; sister Betty Brewster of Juanita, NE; and many nices and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephew, and her "Mall" family. She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph Koch and mother Isabelle (Fuller) Rippen; husband Ray Hogeland; step father Edward Rippen; brother Jack Koch; sister and brothers in law Genelle and Walter Nelson, and Louise Koch. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Christ Church Episcopal in Beatrice with Reverend Marilyn Hasemann and Reverend Gretchen Naugle officiating. Private family inurnment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place.
