Eleanor J. Rector, 94 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice Thursday night, March 14, 2019. She was born on August 27, 1924 in Beatrice to William and Cora (Packer) Genrich and was a 1942 graduate of Beatrice High School. She had worked at Store Kraft during World War II, was the office manager at Formfit Rogers from 1956 until it closed and was office manager at the Gage County Extension office for 27 years before her retirement. Eleanor and Vic Rector were married on February 5, 1949. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church; member and past vice chairman of the Women's Division of the Beatrice Chamber of Commerce; Dinner Club and Bridge Club. She loved to cook and bake, enjoyed golfing, and collected clowns.\nSurvivors include her children Linda Pinkerton and husband George of Beatrice and Steve Rector and wife Cheryl of Phoenix; 4 grandchildren Andrea Lutjemeier and husband Steve, George V. Pinkerton, Emily A. Pinkerton and fiance Dillon Ostergaard, and Jonathan Rector and wife Jennifer; 5 great grandchildren Zach Pinkerton, Ava and Noah Lutjemeier, and Jacob and Olivia Rector; 2 sisters Inez Hall of Beatrice and Judy Genrich of Salida, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Vic Rector (2001); great granddaughter Ellie Lutjemeier; and brothers Kenneth, Dale and Jon Genrich and their wives.\nCelebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 18, 2019 at the St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Ernesto Medina and Reverend Leah Lawson officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery. The body will lie in state Sunday from 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 2-3:30 PM, and in state one hour preceding the service Monday at the church. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 AM Monday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge.
