Douglas G. Murdock, age 56, of Barneston, passed away at his home on May 4, 2018. He was born on February 20, 1962 to Dennis and Loretta (Schmale) Murdock. He was a 1980 graduate of Beatrice High School. Doug worked as a welder for Johnny's Welding in Beatrice and Landoll Corporation in Marysville. He liked to hunt, loved to fish, and enjoyed pick-up trucks.\nThose left to mourn his passing are his mother, Loretta Powell and husband Bob of Wymore; brother, Alan Murdock of Barneston; sister Kim Hackbarth of Beatrice; step-sister, Doris Buchanan of Beatrice; step-brother, Robert Buchanan of Fairbury; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis; his grandparents; and great niece, Alyssa.\nFuneral services will take place at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Wymore Church of Christ with Clayton Lundstedt officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5-6:30 PM and at the church one hour prior to the service Wednesday. A memorial has been established to the Wymore Church of Christ to be used to minister to families affected by cancer with the funeral home in charge.
