Donna Joan Stokebrand, 86, of DeWitt passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her home. She was born in Beatrice, NE on January 23, 1932 to William and Elsie (Blome) Riechers. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Clatonia, NE. She graduated from Clatonia High School in 1949 and attended Concordia College in Seward, NE where she earned her teaching degree. She taught at a rural school outside Clatonia until her marriage to Wallace Edwin Stokebrand on May 20, 1951. Together they had 5 children: Wallace L. Stokebrand and wife Joyce of Surprize, AZ. Mark L. Stokebrand and wife Rhonda of Exeter, NE. Thomas A. Stokebrand and wife Susan of Phoenix, AZ. Rebecca R. Fuller and husband Tony of Mooresville, NC. Matthew S. Stokebrand and wife Vera of Boonesville, IN.\nDonna was a devoted wife and helped Wallace on the farm. She was a loving and dedicated Mother and stayed home to raise her family. Later she managed a small day care while also watching her Grandkids. She also worked at American Tool Companies for a few years until she retired in 1996.\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Edwin Stokebrand on January 12, 2014, her parents, William & Elsie Riechers. Mother and father-in-law Edwin & Frieda Stokebrand. Brothers Raymond Riechers and Leo Riechers. Sister-in-laws Darlene Pohlmann and Virginia Stokebrand.\nSurvivors include children Wallace & Joyce Stokebrand, Mark & Rhonda Stokebrand, Thomas & Susan Stokebrand, Rebecca & Tony Fuller and Matt & Vera Stokebrand. Grandchildren Luke Stokebrand and wife Jill, Kristy Bands and husband Joe, Angela Gallagher and husband Tyler, Cameo Wolf and husband Kevin, Cantrell Harrison and husband Dennis, Carson Stokebrand, Carly Fritz and husband Scott, Amy Schroeder and husband Jon, Margo Stokebrand, Chase Hardin and fiance Trish Goering, Courtney Broman and husband Brett, Kaelin Fuller, Ashley Stokebrand and Andrew Stokebrand. Thirteen great grandchildren, James Stokebrand, Lily Stokebrand, Jacob Bands, Parker Wolf, Cammie Harrison, Devin Harrison, Jensyn Fritz, Dean Schroeder, Sully Schroeder, Henry Schroeder, Hadley Hardin, Knox Broman and Brooks Broman. Brothers-in-law Norman Stokebrand, and Ivan & Lois Pohlmann sisters-in-law Phyllis & Richard Hagemeier, and Lois Riechers and many nieces and nephews.\nFuneral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dewitt with Pastor Sean Koos officiating. A family prayer service will begin at 9:45 AM. Burial will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Venrick-Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Dewitt and at the church one hour prior to the service. A memorial has been established to the Trinity Lutheran Church with the funeral home in charge.
