Donna R. King

Donna R. King, 77 years of age, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Beatrice passed away at the Venice Regional Hospital Tuesday morning, May 15, 2012. She was born on October 28, 1934 at R. Beatrice, Nebraska to Adolph and Lila (Bateman) Forke. Donna was a graduate of Beatrice High School and attended Lincoln School of Commerce for 1 year. She married Teddy Joe King on September 4, 1952. She had been a bookkeeper in Beatrice at O.K. Tire Company for 21 years and owner of the Root Cellar for 13 years retiring in 2009. Donna was a former member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Red Hats Club, both in Beatrice. She enjoyed Pug dogs, flowers, roller skating, and the outdoors.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Alan Lee King of Beatrice, and Rodney Joe King and wife Diane of Venice, Florida; 3 grandchildren Jennifer Jo Goddard and husband Alan, Nathan King, and Benjamin King; 2 great grandchildren Zachary Joe Barrett Goddard and Alyson Rene Goddard; sister Darlene Zvolanek of Liberty; and best friend Teddy Joe King of Gering, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Lila (Bateman) Forke; and brother in law Frank Zvolanek.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place, but you can sign Donna's guest book at www.ghchapel.com. A memorial has been established to the Beatrice Humane Society with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice in charge. These services have been entrusted to the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
