Deb Stiefvater

Debra "Deb" Stiefvater, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandma passed peacefully in her sleep after fighting a courageous battle with cancer on June 14, 2026 in the presence of her husband Jeff. She was born in Lexington, Nebraska on February 23, 1964. Deb was a longtime resident of both Cozad and Beatrice, Nebraska where she both lived and worked. While in Cozad, she worked as the office manager for Nebraska Public Power District and in Beatrice, worked in various offices within the Gage County Courthouse. Along the way, she gathered close friends. She was married to Jeffry Stiefvater on October 28, 2017.

Deb loved the Lord Jesus, her family, gardening, and canning. Her children and grandchildren were among her greatest blessings and she treasured every moment with them. She had a contagious laugh, a warm heart, and a gift for making others feel welcome. She will be remembered for her loving spirit and a spunky, sassy personality that brought joy, laughter, and a little spark to every room she entered.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff of Beatrice; daughters, April (Nathan) George of Henderson, NE and their sons, Lennox and Declan, Samantha (Jake) Hohensee of Lincoln and their children Vera, Cal, and another to be born in November; stepchildren, Cody (Amber) Stiefvater and their daughters, Izel and Karly and Kenzie (Joel) Brueggemann and their children, Jordyn and James all of Beatrice; sister, Carmma (Mark) Parkison; niece, Holly (Cyle) Kling and their children; nephews, Shaun (Ashley) Parkison, Chris (Claudia) Parkison and their sons, and Robert Parkison all of Colorado; sisters-in-law, Deb (Leroy) Dinslage of Garland, NE and Teresa Campbell (Lanny Grosse) of Castle Rock, CO; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Donna (Richardson) Moore; niece, Heather Parkison; and parents-in-law, Joe E. Stiefvater and Jeraldine "Jeri" Stiefvater.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Kathy Brueggemann officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. The body will lie in state at the funeral home Wednesday, June 17th, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
