Virginia Bottomley Obituary (1921 - 2015)

Virginia Bottomley, 93, of Wymore, passed away at the Wymore Good Samaritan Center Friday morning, July 10, 2015. She was born on September 7, 1921 in Taunton, Massachusetts to Leon & Lily (Gordon) Demar. Virginia graduated from Taunton High School and married Samuel Bottomley on November 1, 1941. She had been employed as an office clerk for Texas Instruments from 1959 until 1975. They moved to Wymore in 1993. Virginia was a charter member of the Wesleyan Circle of Memorial United Methodist Church and was a soloist at church when growing up. She enjoyed playing cards, camping for family vacations, and sewing. Virginia is survived by her three children, son; Richard Bottomley of Mentone, Alabama, daughters; Pamela & LeRoy Wegner, and Sara & Thomas Teague, all of rural Liberty; sister Beverly Lockhart of Ilseboro, Maine; sister in law Joyce Demar of Taunton, Mass.; grandchildren Roger Bottomely and wife Betsy, Alice Kirshbach, Cynthia Sanders, Debra Gieselman and husband Rod, Donna Dorn and husband Rich, Ken Wegner, Anna Teague, and Kenneth Teague; and many great and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Samuel, and brother, Leon E. Demar Jr.; and brother in law George Lockhart. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday July 13, 2015 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Jon Palmquist officiating. Burial in the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home on Sunday between 1:00- 9:00 pm, with family greeting friends from 2-3:30 pm.
