Cathy A. Carel Obituary (1955 - 2019)

Cathy A. Carel, 63 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at her home Sunday morning, January 13, 2019. She was born on February 1, 1955 in Fargo, ND to LaVerne and Wanda (Ramklu) Brandt. Cathy graduated from Beatrice High School in 1973. Cathy and Gale Carel were married on July 13, 1974. She was the parts manager at Twin Rivers in Beatrice for 44 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a church deaconess, financial secretary, choir member, bible study leader, Kids Club Teacher, and member of American Baptist Women; and member of the Parts Guild. Cathy enjoyed bowling, reading, crossword puzzles and watching sports (especially Husker sports). Survivors include her husband Gale R. Carel; daughter Nicole E. Rasmussen; son in law Andrew W. Rasmussen; grandchildren Ainsley and Lincoln Rasmussen; and sisters Connie Hurley and husband Gregory, and Coleen K. Maynard. She was preceded in death by her parents LaVerne and Wanda (Ramklu) Brandt. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 18, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Beatrice with Reverend Nolan Hayes officiating. Inurnment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place, but a register book will be available for signatures Thursday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 PM. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 AM Friday at the church. A memorial has been established to the church with Dallas and Karen Denton in charge.
