Bob G. James, Sr., age 88 of Wymore passed away peacefully on June 22, 2019 at the Whispering Winds Cottage in Beatrice. He was born on February 9, 1931 in R. Wymore to Grover and Ethel (Lewis) James. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Wymore High School, received his Associates Degree at Fairbury Junior College, and also attended Omaha Metropolitan Community College. He worked for a cable company in Arizona, partnered in a liquor store with his brother, Juni, and was a carpenter. On September 12, 1955, Bob and June Ellen Rutan were united in marriage. Bob was a past member of the Wymore Country Club, enjoyed golfing, but will always be remembered as a hard working man who took great care of his family.\nThose left to mourn his passing are his wife of nearly 64 years, June Ellen; children, Kenneth James and wife LaRay of Wymore, Bob James Jr. and wife Amy of Springboro, OH, Deb Nugent and husband Paul of Elkhorn, and Janice Richter and husband Dennis of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Curtis, Justin, and Cody James and significant other Hayley Petracek, Andrew (Becca), Caitlin, and Zach James, James "Jim", and Dana Nugent, Matt (Elizabeth), and Daniel Richter; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lester (Maxine) James, Gwen (Walter) Hurtz, Dean (Jean), Don (Gladys), Dale (Dolly), Melvin "Doc" (Jeanette), and Grover "Juni" (Jolene); and special niece, Jaqueline Fulton.\nFuneral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday June 26, 2019 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Reverend Marilyn Hasemann officiating. Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore on Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family will greet relatives and friends before the service on Wednesday. A memorial has been established to The Great Plains Welsh Project Operating Account and Friends of Wymore Library with the funeral home in charge.
