Betty Lou Bates

Betty L. Bates, 67 years of age, of Wymore passed away at the Wymore Good Samaritan Center Wednesday afternoon, June 3, 2015. She was born on January 30, 1948 in Beatrice to DeVerne Elroy and Lucille (Churchill) Bates, and was a graduate of Beatrice High School. She has lived in Virginia, NE, Arizona, Texas, DeWitt, and in Wymore since January 2014. She had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice, and enjoyed baking and genealogy.

Survivors include her sons Charles Sykes and wife Carol of DeWitt, and Todd Bates and wife Connie of Beatrice; 7 Grandchildren; and nephews Scott Bates and wife Linda of Beatrice, and Jim Bates of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents DeVerne Elroy and Lucille (Churchill) Bates, and brother Bruce Bates and wife Gretchen.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Hooker Cemetery near Adams, NE with Reverend Myron Meyer officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place. Sign Betty's online guest book at www.ghchapel.com.
