Benny Salts Obituary (1931 - 2013)

Benny R. Salts, 81 years of age, devoted husband, Dad, grandpa (Dude), and great grandpa lost his battle with cancer on August 23, 2013 at his home in Blue Springs with his wife of 60 years and his family by his side. Benny and Maxine were blessed with and raised 4 children, 13 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. Ben is survived by his wife Maxine; daughters Kathy (Jim) Philippi of Tecumseh, Charlene Vonderfecht of Ocala, FL, and Karen (Mike) McCullar of Sperry, OK; son Dan (Marna) Salts of Skiatook, OK; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, 6 sister in laws, 4 brothers, and 5 brother in laws. Benny was preceded in death by his parents Rolly and Evelyn (Williams) Salts; parents in law Ole and Charlotte Lindblom, brother Mike Salts; grandson Adam Philippi; and 3 sister in laws and 3 brother in laws. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wymore, NE with Father Dennis Hotovy and Father Boehme officiating. Military graveside services will be provided at the Calvary Cemetery in Wymore by Anderson Post #25, American Legion in Wymore. The body will lie in state Monday from 12-9:00 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting friends from 7-8:00 PM followed by a scriptural prayer service at 8:00PM, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Tuesday.
