Arlo W. Koch Obituary (1922 - 2017)

Arlo W. Koch, 94 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at the Beatrice Community Hospital Monday morning, June 19, 2017. He was born on December 16, 1922 near Wymore, NE to Otto and Blanche (Craven) Koch. Arlo and Lorraine Hockemeier were married on November 13, 1949 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He farmed and lived southeast of Odell, and owned and operated Koch Trucking for 50 years. He was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Odell, having served as an elder, trustee, and in the Men's Club; former board member of the Farmers Elevator in Odell. He enjoyed playing cards, working on the farm, trucking, and custom farm work. Survivors include 3 sons; Dennis (Nancy) Koch of Odell, Arlin (Marlys) Koch of Wymore, and Gary (Teresa) Koch of Odell; 5 grandchildren Tim Koch, Troy (Mindy) Koch, Teri Ann (Austin) Zimmerman, Alex (Makayla) Koch, and Jenna (Andrew) Quest; 2 great grandchildren Landon Koch and Heidi Koch; sister Betty (Leonard) Kramer of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lorraine (1985); brothers Percy, Roy, Everett, and Harry Koch; and sisters Jessie McBrien and Lula Saathoff. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Am Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Odell with Reverend Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Burial at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state 1-8:00 PM Wednesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, 10-8:00 Thursday at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 PM, and at the church one hour preceding the service.
