Ardene L. Bartlett Obituary (1931 - 2017)

Ardene L. Bartlett, 85 years of age, of Crete, formerly of Beatrice and Falls City passed away at the Crestview Care Center in Milford Thursday night, September 14, 2017. She was born on October 22, 1931 in Virginia, NE to Edward and Tillie (Krikava) Hubka, and was a 1949 graduate of Beatrice High School. Ardene and Wilbur "Bill" Bartlett were married on September 2, 1949 in Beatrice. Ardene had been a secretary at Dempster Manufacturing in Beatrice. She was a legal secretary for Weaver-Beekman-Merz law firm when they lived in Falls City from 1958 until moving to Crete in 2004. Ardene was a former member of the First Christian Church in Beatrice; former member and officer of the Legal Secretary's Association. She enjoyed bowling, reading and sewing. Survivors include son Bob Bartlett of Falls City; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; daughter in law Lynn Bartlett of Crete; sister Maryann Divona of Falls City; sisters in law Erna Beach and Eva Bartlett, both of Beatrice, and Mary Meadows of Kansas; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ardene was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Tillie (Krikava) Hubka; husband Wilbur "Bill" Bartlett (1998); son Bill Bartlett; and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Rev. Crystal Dewey officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery. The body will lie in state Monday from 1-8:00 and Tuesday until the time of the service at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel.
